Domain whois are records that show the ownership information of a registered domain name or IP address. By checking the domain whois information, you can find out who owns the domain name.
Whois information contains various information such as when the registered domain name was registered, when it will expire, the company it was registered with, and who the domain owner is. According to ICANN rules, domain name owners are required to enter complete and complete whois information.
In accordance with the WHOIS policies published by ICANN, this information should not be hidden for the security and accessibility of the DNS system. However, within the scope of GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) adopted by the European Union and KVKK (Personal Data Protection Law) adopted in our country, only the organization information of the user you have identified is published, since it is a crime to share the data of real persons in the public domain or with any third parties.
Domain name information of natural persons is hidden, while information of organizations is published. You can follow the steps below to hide/show domain name information such as address, e-mail, phone:
- Log in to the control panel.
- Find your domain name under the “My Domains” heading.
- Click the “Information” button from the action options on the right side of your domain name.
- Click on the “Owner Privacy” button on the left side.
- On the page that opens, you can activate or deactivate the relevant buttons.
