.TR DNS

It is the system responsible for the conversions that take place between the domain names in the computer networks (eg: metunic.com.tr) and the IP addresses used by the computers (eg: 11.11.11.11). In order to use a domain name assigned to you, you must define your domain name on a server. In other words, you can compare the domain names to the names in the phone book and the IP addresses to the phone numbers. You can think of the domain name server as the directory itself.
You can define a sub-domain name (e.g: subdomain.domain.com.tr for domain.com.tr) that is assigned to you and distribute it according to your preference. Currently, we do not support you to create a subdomain, but we are still working on the subject.
After the domain name is assigned to you, it does not become active immediately. The domain names that are paid and whose DNS information is updated become active by updating with the first update of the servers operated by nic.tr.
Your domain name servers may have been suspended by nic.tr for administrative reasons. You can get support from the support menu tickets link, our call center (+ 90-312-9881106) or by e-mail (info@metunic.com.tr) with us on the subject. Your domain name servers may be suspended by nic.tr due to delayed payment. In other words, if you haven’t paid after the due date, your domain name may be suspended. You can check this by looking at the due date on your dashboard. If your due date has passed and you have no payments, your domain has been suspended. In this case, you should pay for your domain name. Following the payment time, your domain name will be activated at the beginning of the next hour. You may not be able to reach your domain servers due to incorrect DNS addresses being entered into the system. For this, you need to check your DNS address information and make sure it is correct. If the access problem of your website is not caused by DNS, it is recommended that you contact the service provider person / company from which you receive hosting services for your website.
We do not provide hosting and e-mail services yet, but our work on the subject continues. If you want to be informed about innovations / developments in this and other issues, you can follow our blog page. In addition, you can be informed about announcements if you contact us.
While your domain is suspended, all network services associated with the domain become inaccessible. Therefore, you cannot receive or send emails as your email service cannot continue.
To update your DNS servers, first login to your control panel with your email and password. Then, find the domain name you want to change in the “My Domains” header. Click on “DNS”, one of the transaction options on the right side of your domain name. In the window that opens, enter your DNS server information in the sections reserved for domain server options. Click on the “Update Name Servers” option at the bottom of the screen. The process is also indicated in the form of a diagram below: Login to the Control Panel -> My Domains -> DNS -> Server Information -> Update Name Servers

DNS server changes are updated every hour between 09.00 and 21.00, once at 01.00 and once at 06.00. In addition to this rule, changes made in the first half hour are transferred to the next hour, while changes made after half an hour are updated one and a half hours later.

If you think there is a problem with the update, we can perform the necessary checks if you send the server address information you request to be saved as a reply.

This box is used to direct your domain servers to DNS addresses that belong to METUnic. If you click on the box, your DNS server information will be directed to ns1.metunic.com.tr and ns2.metunic.com.tr. If you select box, you can add records such as A, CNAME, MX, TXT for your domain name using the “DNS Records” screen.

You need to add your DNS records on the server computers with your DNS directing for that domain. You can also enter DNS records by directing the DNS addresses of your domain name to METUnic DNS servers.

  1. To update your DNS servers, first login to your Dashboard with email and password. Then, find the domain name you want to change in the “My Domains” header. Click on the “DNS” button on the right hand side of your domain name, check the “Use METUnic DNS Servers” box in the window that opens. Click on “Update Servers” at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Then, by clicking on the DNS Records menu, you can enter your DNS records by typing a dot (.) at the end of the values you enter in the second column, except A and AAA records.
  3. If your domain servers are not directed to METUnic before you add records and will be directed later, the update will be performed according to the following time information:
    1. DNS server changes are updated by nic.tr and these updates are carried out every hour between 09.00 and 21.00, one time at 01.00 and at 06.00. In addition to this rule, the changes made in the first half hour are transferred to the next hour, while the changes made in the second half hour are updated after one and a half hours.
    2. If your domain server is already selected as METUnic servers before you add a DNS record, your entered records will be updated after fifteen minutes.
The NS option in the DNS Records menu allows you to configure subdomains to be directed to different DNS servers. For example: It is used to create a server to manage the subdomain created as subdomain.metunic.com.tr connected to metunic.com.tr with a separate DNS server name instead of ns1.metunic.com.tr server.
You can update your domain name servers from the “DNS” link on the right side of your domain name that you want to change in the “My Domains” header.
If you have entered an A record from the DNS Records menu without directing your domain name server information to METUnic DNS addresses, your domain name IP information may not be updated. For this, you must first register your server addresses as ns1.metunic.com.tr and ns2.metunic.com.tr addresses in the “Domain Name Servers” menu and then enter the A record.
Since we have not yet provided support for the server where the IP address will be registered, we cannot assist in creating IP and a private Name Server connected to this IP. Our technical team continues to work to provide services in this field as soon as possible.
When you use METUnic DNS servers, your DNS records will be updated within 15 minutes.
You need to add your DNS records on the server computers with your DNS forwarding for that domain. You can also add a DNS record by directing your domain’s DNS addresses to METUnic DNS servers.
