Frequently Asked Questions About Documents
What are documented/undocumented domain names?
Undocumented domain extensions: .com.tr, org.tr, net.tr, gen.tr, tel.tr, name.tr, biz.tr, tv.tr, info.tr, bbs.tr, web.tr.
*For undocumented extensions, if the domain name is on the Restricted Names List (TAKIL), the registry TRABIS may request documents under the ICTA (BTK) document Procedures and Principles on Restricted Domain Names (opens in a new tab).
Documented domain extensions: av.tr, bel.tr, dr.tr, edu.tr, gov.tr, k12.tr, kep.tr, mil.tr, pol.tr
Documented applications are evaluated by the registry TRABIS, not by the registrar.
What should I pay attention to when registering a domain name?
You should make sure that the extension you want to buy is suitable for domain name registration and usage purposes. In certified domain names, not every extension is allocated to all kinds of organizations. For example, as a commercial company, it is not possible to get a domain name with the gov.tr extension allocated to government agencies. In addition, after determining the appropriate extension, you should make sure that you have the necessary documents for the registration of this domain name.
I made my application, how can I submit my documents?
After your online domain name application and payment, your domain name will be displayed under the title of “Domain Name Applications with .tr Extension Pending Documents” in your control panel within ten (10) minutes at the latest. You can submit your documents by clicking the “Upload Document” button on the right side of your domain name, which will be in the “Open” tab.
How long do I have to send my documents after my online application?
When you apply for a documented domain name, you must upload your documents within two (2) days of your initial application. If the required documents are not uploaded within this period, the online application is cancelled automatically. The documents are evaluated and the domain name is approved and activated within fifteen (15) business days.
Do I need to physically submit my documents?
It is sufficient to scan or photograph your documents and submit them in PDF or JPEG format. Physical documents are not accepted.
I submitted my documents, did they arrive?
You can view the status of your application on the “Pending .tr Domain Name Applications Awaiting Documents” tab after logging in to your control panel. The evaluation is carried out by the authorized registry TRABIS.
I submitted my documents; has it been evaluated?
You can view the status of your application from the “Pending .tr Domain Name Applications Pending Documents” tab by logging in from your control panel. The relevant evaluation will be made by the authorized registration authority TRABIS.
I submitted my documents, why was my application canceled?
You can find out why the application was canceled by reviewing the email sent to you in line with the information received from TRABIS. You can also contact us through the channels on the Help/Support page and get detailed information about the subject.
There is an existing application for the documented domain name I want to apply for, what can I do?
In all kinds of domain name registrations, the first and foremost principle is “first come, first served”. In order to take action on the domain name, the application process must be finalized.
